Freshmen Finish Season 7-3-Down Reynolds 55-41

By: Jim Skotthy

The Freshmen Black Knights rebounded from their last game against Reagan and came out of the gate fast, putting 20 points on the board in the first quarter and never looked back against RJ Reynolds Tuesday night in Welcome. The Knights played well on both ends of the court while paced by three players with 13 points each, resulting in our young Knights defeating Reynolds 55-41.  This concludes the Freshmen season with a successful 7-3 campaign!

The future looks bright as these guys listen, execute and play with determination and heart. Congratulations to Coach Moore and his talented squad, and many thanks to Coach Moore for his assistance in providing us with the stats from each game! Good luck to the Freshmen next year, as they continue their HS careers at the JV level. GO KNIGHTS!

Freshmen Go Down to Reagan 45-34

By: Jim Skotthy

With a point guard battling sickness combined with only three others scoring, the freshmen Black Knights dropped their contest to Reagan 45-34. It was a disappointing game for the young Knights, but like all teams, every now and then you just have a bad game. North is now 6-3 and will play their final game of the season Tuesday at home, verses Reynolds.

Freshmen Knights Defeat Davie 43-33

By: Jim Skotthy

The Freshmen Knights defeated Davie County 45-33 in Welcome to improve to 6-2 on the season. After a low scoring first half due to the War Eagles zone defense, the Black Knights found themselves down 19-13 at the half.

The second half was an entirely different story.  The Knights found the mark, knocking down four 3’s and erupting for 18 points in the third quarter.  The fourth quarter was much the same with our guys scoring 14 points while limiting Davie to three points in the final stanza. Josh Thomas, and Jake Butts led the young Knights with 11 points each. There are two games left in the Freshmen season, starting with North Davidson traveling to Reagan on Friday for a 4:15 pm contest. The Varsity games follow. Make sure you come out and support your BLACK KNIGHTS!

Freshmen Drop One to Mt. Tabor

The Freshmen Black Knights traveled to Mt. Tabor to take on the Spartans on Friday night. The Knights put up a valiant effort before falling short 42-36. Cold shooting was the nemesis as the Black Knights played superb defense against the strong Spartan's offense. Jake Butts led the Knights with 9 points and both Nick Bryan and Dylan Holmes contributed 7 each.  North drops to 5-2 and play Davie County in Welcome this coming Tuesday. Please come out and support the Freshmen BLACK KNIGHTS!

Black Knight Frosh’s Now 3-1

By: Jim Skotthy

The Freshmen team was on the court this past Thursday in Welcome taking on East Forsyth, winning by a score of 49-36.

The young Knights did a good job of being patient on offense against the man-to-man defense while running their offense by making good passes and getting good looks at the basket.  The 9th graders go into the Christmas break 3-1 and their next game is January 3rd against RJ Reynolds on the road. We hope the team has a nice break for the holidays, and thank Coach Moore for providing us the information.

Freshmen Knights Tripped up by Mt. Tabor

The Freshman Knights were in action tonight at home against Mt. Tabor, and hit a stumbling block, losing by a score of 60-39.

The first quarter started out just fine, with the Knights only down by 2, 15-13.

The middle two quarter were the undoing, however, as Mt. Tabor did a much better job with rebounds. North could not quite find the right stride, and had a lot of unforced turnovers. At the half, it was 32-18, the Knights were outscored 17-5 in the second.

The third was not much better, Mt. Tabor outscored the Knights 13-8.

In the fourth, the Knights settled down, and kept the quarter score close 15-13. Most of the Knights got a chance to compete tonight, and that will be a good experience for them as their careers go forward. The freshmen are now 2-1 on the season, and are back on the court Thursday at home against East Forsyth. Come out early prior to the Varsity game, and enjoy watching the Freshmen Knights!
